The Gush Katif Committee (AKA Friends of Gush Katif) has three central functions:
  1. Working with the government and the various Gush Katif communities in order to promote solutions to the varied needs at both the temporary sites and the permanent communities.
  2. Maintaining a strong connection between the former Gush Katif residents including the youth and young adults, to ensure that the second generation grows-up with a healthy connection to Gush Katif.
  3. Voicing the opinion of the Gush Katif people in crucial areas.
